Michelle
swam competitively for Brooklyn Swim Team from 5-17 years of
age. She made it to Junior Olympics (JO) in the 400M
Freestyle and participated in Relays at the age of 12. She also
swam for her high school team from 7th to 11th grade. She was
unable to continue her swimming career as the result of a car
accident and subsequent knee surgeries. Michelle began
coaching for Swim STMA when it was a Community Ed program and
continued when it became a USA Swimming club in 2000. She has 2
children, Cole and Felicia. She is married to Dave and
they live in St Michael.

Terri swam competitively for 10 years
(ages 7-17) for the Beaver Dam Swim Team in her hometown of Beaver
Dam, Wisconsin . She qualified for State Championships in the
Breaststroke all 10 years. She went on to swim varsity for 4 years
in high school was a state qualifier in the 100 and 200 yd
Breaststroke. Terri has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional
Research and Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison,
where she did research for 2 years. She
has lived in Minnesota for 14 years and in St. Michael for 7
years. She is married to her husband Mark and they have one
child, Grant.
Annie Birkholz

Annie is a physical education
teacher at St. Michael-Albertville Middle School East. She teaches
7th grade Health and a Fit 4 Life class. Prior to working at
STMA, she taught at an alternative learning center (ALC) and was a
substitute teacher for all age levels. She has been a
lifeguard and has taught swim lessons for many years.
Annie joined the Sea Devils in 2009. She is married to Dan
and they live in Buffalo.
David Cliff

Dave swam competitively for Maple
Grove /Champlin from age 9- 18. In high school he qualified for
State in the 100 Fly his Sophomore and Senior years. He was voted
MVP his Junior Season and served as a Captain his Senior Year. Dave
swam the 200 Fly and the 1650 Free for the University of Wisconsin-
Milwaukee . He earned the Coaches Award during his Freshman Year
and enjoyed competing in some of the finest pools in the country.
From 1999 to 2004, Dave started coaching along side his childhood
coach at MGC. While there, he had the opportunity to work with
several State Champions in the 8 & U and 9-10 age groups. Dave
joined the Sea Devils in 2009 and has lived in St. Michael since
2004 with his wife, Christine, daughter Emma, and son Aiden.
Dawn VanDerBeek

Dawn swam competitively in her
hometown of Fargo, North Dakota. She then continued her
swimming career at Minnesota State University, Mankato. While
at Mankato, Dawn won the "Maverick Achievement Award",
MVP award, Hardest Worker award and graduated Cum Laude,
with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education. She
started her coaching career in Waseca and then moved to St. Cloud,
where she was named Section 8 AA, Coach of the Year in 2002.
She currently lives in Monticello and still enjoys the sport of
swimming. In her spare time she competes in triathlons,
marathons, lake swims and swims USS Masters. She currently
holds the 50, 100 and 200 yard breaststroke record for ages
30-34, in the state of Minnesota.
Tom Guillou

Tom swam for Winona Waves Swim Club and
Winona Senior High for many years. He was a State Champion in the
200Y Freestyle and runner up in the 500Y Freestyle. Tom swam one
year for college at University of Minnesota. He also has many years
of experience as a coach. He was a Head Coach for 4 years at Winona
Swim Club, Head Coach for 2 years at Ames Cyclone Aquatic Club and
an Undergrad Assistant Coach for 4 years at Iowa State University.
Tom has 6 children and has an engineering degree.
Katie Leuer

Katie swam
competitively from age 8-18 for Elk River's Swim Team. She
qualified for state in the 100 backstroke and 500 Freestyle. She
continues to swim and loves to see the kids involved in a
lifetime sport like swimming. She has lived in St.Michael for 15
years and is married to Dan. They have 3 kids, Stella,
Leo and Barrett.
